Experience gained through my internship
During my 15 months of internship I worked for a company called Excite Events from Oslo, under the title Project and Administrative Assistant.
Excite Events has later merged with Fieldwork, one of Norway’s best event companies, nominated to European Best Event Award (BEA) 2011.
In my role as project assistant during the conferences, I contributed with the development of ideas, finding venues, cost analysis, budgeting, contacting suppliers, costumer meetings and the logistics of the event.
During the events I helped stage the event, the logistics and made sure that the venue and all details stayed in place before costumers arrived. I guaranteed for costumer satisfaction and helped to deliver successful events.
Kick-offs were the most important big-scale events for Excite Events, these where events that required a lot of planning, creativity and logistics. Hence I got a lot more responsibility which I really enjoyed. We had two very unique events for Berg Hansen and Netlight.
For Berg Hansen with 500 delegates, my key assignment as a project assistant and artist host, was assembling and welcoming artist, providing assistance for the artist when needed, preparing their time schedule, and their backstage area. By also providing the artist with all necessities on their rider list. I was responsible for their logistics, making sure they attended their rehearsals and went on the stage at right times.
For Netlight with 400 delegates, my role as a project assistant was to keep in contact with suppliers, making sure that the venue and that all details where in residence before the event was taking place. This event was a new concept, the event took place at six different venues incorporating different themes, and activities at the diverse venues. This required seamless logistics and time management. This event was really amusing and challenging.
In my role as project assistant during corporate events, I helped out with creating novel and creative ideas that inspired and created unique experiences and memories. I contributed with the development of creating proposals for the costumers and finding the appropriate venue that incorporate the themes and fits with the client’s budget. In periods I have experienced the pressure of finding a venue in a very short period of time.
Cost analysis and budgeting based on the costumer’s preference. In addition, being responsible for contacting and ordering from suppliers, staging and down rigging the event. During the event I have made sure of costumer satisfaction, and helped out with the logistics.
Launch parties & teambuilding
After some practice at Excite Events, I was given more challenge and responsibility which I really enjoyed. In my role as a project executive, I was responsible for the event proposals, contacting costumers, and developed the network and relationship with the costumers. Agreeing on a budget and creating a satisfying project plan. Contacting vendors, finding venue incorporating the theme, food and drinks, finding entertainers and artists. During the event I was responsible for the logistics, the staging and the down rigging of the event.
I worked as a project manager freelancer for the OH! Company. January – March 2015. The OH! Company delivered service within marketing, sales, events, artist and entertainments for restaurants, bars, magazines and artists.
Ditt Bryllup 2015 (Your Wedding 2015)
I was a project manager for the OH! Company whilst working for Ditt Bryllup (Your Wedding) magazine jubilees exhibition, I was responsible for the vendors and the logistics of the events.
